I hope you are having a great week so far. Now, on to some scrappin'! We are scheduling something new - Teach-Me Tuesdays. Every other Tuesday, one of our designers will post step-by-step instructions to a project made with scraps.
Here is a card I made in about 15 minutes.
Here is a card I made in about 15 minutes.
First lesson - If I purchase a paper pack for a specific project, I try to keep all my scraps from that project together...storing them in one plastic 12 x 12 storage envelope That way, when I need a quick card, everything in that envelope is color coordinated - and I have fewer decisions to make. I used scraps from Heartfelt Creations Delicate Asters Collection. I've been working on St. Patrick Day cards for a couple weeks now - so cut a whole page of shamrock accents (freebie from Images by Heather) in different sizes on a piece of scrap green-patterned paper. So I already had some of those laying around.
I began with these scraps.
I began with these scraps.
I began with a cream card base - 5-1/4" x 5-1/4". I used a deckle blade to cut three sides of the striped cardstock to be the card front - 5-1/2" x 5-1/2". The other scraps - I pretty much cut five rectangles. The only measuring I did was to mat a couple of the scrap rectangles. Just used whatever size rectangles I could get from the scraps I had left...starting to just glue them down wherever! I did decide I needed something to bring it all together - so added a green border matted with purple.
I popped up the last couple pieces of scraps I selected - and added a couple of the Shamrock Accents.
Come back to visit us as we keep posting new ideas for using scraps.
Awesome card Camille! Thank you for sharing.
